There’s been a slew of Western brand BB cushion and I can see it’s becoming a trend these days. Honestly, I want to reserve that part of me that says cushion is exclusive to Korean brands and normal foundation goes to western brands. But hey, we also need to adapt to the changing times so I just decided to join the parade and got myself my first western brand cushion the Lancome Blanc Expert Cushion Compact High Coverage.
From what I know, Lancome is the first western brand to release their version of the BB cushion but that time, I still have a lot of cushions so I didn’t buy one. I actually have no intentions of buying it but because I signed-up for the Lancome service and trial kit and the sales staff at the Lancome Tampines counter was utterly nice (although I had to wait for a while cos she had a previous customer) and I also find the cushion nice, I bought it. Yes, I am very easy to persuade. My consolation is that I got a lot of Genefique (one of Lancome’s flagship products) samples so hurray!
It costs $20 for the case and $55 for the refill so the initial “damage” is $75, cheaper compared to YSL and Dior but more expensive than Biotherm which is $69 and comes with 2 refills. Once opening the box, the case is mirror -like so from this photo you can see our ceiling
The cushion sponge is not so thick and the foundation itself has this net on top which sorts of filter the liquid inside, quite hygienic if I must say
I am impressed. When I first used this, it was very dewy because the sales staff at Lancome smack a lot of serum on my face which didn’t really reflect the finish properly but when I used my own cushion, the finish is matte with very very minimal dewy glow, so minimal that when I put loose powder the finish has become matte.
The coverage is good for a quick trip outside (say around 3 hours in the sweltering heat) and it covers my dark circles but not so much that I had to still use a concealer (but if you are just out for 3 hours, why use a concealer, lols!) I used this together with Missha super aqua and TheFaceShop power long lasting sunblock so my face isn’t so oily after three hours but after that, I can already feel my oil glands partying.
It doesn’t feel heavy on the face so it’s just perfect for the current Singapore (super hot at 34 degrees but feels like 36 degrees) weather. Plus, it now comes with more than 4 shades so there is basically a perfect shade for you just like my shade which is very very close to my skin tone (as compared to Kbrands and Biotherm that just has 2 shades)
The case is also light so you can carry it with you anywhere.
Have you gotten yourself a western-brand cushion?
