A couple of days ago Etude House Singapore gave out invites to lucky ladies (im one of them) who will join their Bugis Junction branch opening specials where Pony will do a makeup demo.
In case you’re still confusing who this Pony is, she’s a South Korean makeup artist-famously known as CL’s (group leader of 2ne1) makeup artist.
So on 6pm of May-13 I arrived there and man that place is crowded! It was so hard to walk around and its so hot. I wanted to just stay still in one corner but then there’s no empty corner so I forced myself to walk around haha!
[LOOK AT ALL THAT NAIL POLISH!!!!]
[NEXT ITEM IN MY ETUDE HOUSE WISHLIST – THE CUSHION CONCEALER/ILLUMINATOR]
At almost every item/shelve I checked, there’s a sales staff that would approach me and ask if I needed help. I hate it when im approached at every move I make so this is not something I’d say that excited me. Plus, sorry about this rant: One girl sales staff gave me a collagen sample so okay cool but then after a few minutes a guy sales staff, without saying a word, removed the collagen sample on my basket and replaced it with a men’s skincare sample he was holding. One, that is just rude and two, its stupid because really why?!??! So my assumption is this – each sales staff holds different samples that would sort of ID them as the staff who assisted a customer, this way they’d get their points without being too obvious. But then its really obvious because the other sales staff who saw the collagen sample would stay away from me it was just that particular guy who barged into my basket. I really hope etude house would remind their staff to be more conscious of their customers. I understand they need to sell but not behave too aggressively.
Another rant: one sales staff was explaining to me about the sunscreen when another customer approached her. So I thought of just helping myself and I opened the sample and the thing just spilled! The liquid spilled the same moment the sales staff got back to me so she thought I pressed the sunscreen too much and it was my fault that it spilled and she made some small comments without really thinking IT WAS NOT MY FAULT! I understand they are under extreme stress with all the events of that they but hey, everyone has their shiz and taking your shiz out on other people could just make things worst.
ON THE HAPPY PART: so the makeup demo started at 7pm with everyone raising their phones/camera to capture photos/videos of Pony arriving. Well, just an observation anytime Pony talks everyone raises their cameras/phones and that includes me lols!
The look Pony demo’ed was the Disco Diva look – meaning the makeup/look one can sport when going clubbing. So it was more heavy eyes nude lips.
She used the new cushion – which dries up as powder once applied (AMAZEBALLS!!!)
PONY’s TIP: When going out at night, use cream blush like Play 101 stick before putting powder blusher to make the makeup last longer.
The lipstick she used is the Dear My Blooming Lipstalk in BE101. This shade is nude-ish pink-ish so since I don’t have that much nude lipsticks in my “collection” I got it. It’s priced at $17.9
THIS IS THE FINAL LOOK (Ps. YOU JUST GOTTA LUUUUV PONY’s MERMAID-Y OCEAN-Y BLUE HAIR, ME WANTSSSSS!]
Etude House have different promotions going on as their opening specials so do check their store out!
