A few weeks ago, I was feeling a bit blue about some random things aka PMS and *life hack* when you are having crazy hormones, go out and shop. It has 10x the healing power than any paracetamol 😛
Anyway, so because my office was just in close proximity to nearly all the awesome malls in the country, I just decided to walk around Bugis Junction and happen to discover the fun-ness of the cosmetic section of BHG Bugis. They carry a lot of Japanese and Korean cosmetic brands there – from masks, moisturizers, body butters, makeup… Even those brands that I have been wanting to try before like Skin Food and Holika Holika.
Because I am in full shopping-zen mode so I didn’t get to take pictures (and I think I’d look weird?) so I’ll just share with you what I got – masks and lip products.
Well, I wanted to hoard on Japanese products as well, but I am on a $25 dollar budget that night so I just got 5 face masks from Holika Holika (SGD2.5/ea) Mistine delicious (not the taste) lip color and gloss and Flormar waterproof lipliner.
REVIEW (WITH A NEWLY INTRODUCED RATING SYSTEM, woohoo!): HOLIKA HOLIKA TOMATO JUICY FACE MASK
According to the product packaging, this is a firming mask and after using it at night and waking up with the mask’s liquid on my face, I noticed my skin was brighter. But, I didn’t notice any firming on my skin plus it felt a bit itchy and I noticed some small rash appearing on my chin. At $2.5o, this is a so-so mask. Since this is my first post with ratings, Im going to give this 3 our of 5 hearts (5 being the highest) because despite the rash, which was luckily cured by my SKII goodies, I loved how bright it made my skin looked like – the kind of bright that’s not tired looking.
REVIEW: MISTINE DELICIOUS LIP COLOR AND GLOSS
I got this at $6.90 which is cheap since you get a liquid lipstick on one end and a lip gloss on the other – you can ofcourse choose whether you want to use them together or individually. But the lip color is already glossy by itself so, since im a matte lippie person, im good without the gloss. I noticed its not drying and has a good staying power so I give this 4 out of 5 hearts.
REVIEW: FLORMAR WATERPROOF LIP LINER
I have nothing much to say to this product apart from I don’t like it at all. It’s expensive at $8.90, it’s got this piercing texture when lining the lips and well, it doesn’t really color unless you apply it hard – so hard you’re gonna end up with a lip shape wound. I wanted to give this 1 heart but since this is my first time on the rating system, I’ll give allowance to other products worst than this, so for now this is 2 out of 5 hearts. [April 16, 2016 – Update: I tried sharpening this pencil and it finally drew out a line properly. Imma give this a 3 out of 5 because why one has to sharpen something before using it? Was the initial color dried out or covered with some protective stuff?)
