Birthday Staycation: Marriott Tang Plaza

Part of my month long celebration was a staycation at the Marriott Tang Plaza a few weeks back. Obviously, since I am the one planning the family activities, I always have my birthday as bias for hotel overnights.

This is not our first time at Marriott – it was my husband and I’s third, my kids’ second and my mom and nanny’s first.

During our first stay, it was at the 7th floor Deluxe room. The room was sleek and quiet despite our room being just adjacent to the elevator, my only complaint was that the hair dryer was not working and the toiletries provided were only good for one person (not the same as the toiletries below – brand was Thann) even after I indicated that there are two of us staying.

Because Marriott was right in the heart of Orchard, it is near to almost every mall.

For our second visit, we decided to get an upgrade to an Executive Room – it is basically the same layout as in the above pictures only this is situated on higher floors and with access to the lounge.

This time, we decided to go all out with the upgrade – just so we wouldn’t be so crowded in the tiny space of a deluxe room – and got a pool side room. Best decision of that week! Hahaha!

Free breakfast for two that came with the upgrade; although hubby hoped we had access to the lounge for the drinks hehehe…

The very spaceship-y bowl 😀

Once you enter the room, you wouldn’t feel exposed even if the pool is just right outside.

Favorite parts  (PS. had to cover the faces to protect their privacy :D)

  1. Exposed bath tub – although we didn’t get to use it because it was so cold and the kids were sick

2. Bulgari toiletries – yes I brought them home

3. Resort-y, not so in Singapore feel (despite the surrounding buildings)

4. Awesome night view

5. Late checkout (2pm)

Such a shame we didn’t get to enjoy the pool because of the haze, and my kids being sick, but all in all it was a relaxing stay – just as every staycations should be.
