Beauty Journal #1: Innisfree Super Volcanic Pore Clay Mask

After watching the K-drama That Winter the Wind Blows, I started obsessing about Song Hye Kyo’s skin and begun hoarding Korean brand skincare and cosmetic products. I’ve checked the two most famous brands, or should I say the two brands I am more familiar of, Laneige and Etude House. I’ve immensely enjoyed both but the new kid on the block
also caught my attention – Innisfree.

I’ve done a few checks on the internet and found that one of their raved about products is the clay mask, so I went on to buy one at their Plaza Singapura branch. There are two types of the same kind but since this is the SUPER, I chose this instead 😛

Usage: I have a combination skin meaning my nose, forehead and chin areas are quite oily then the cheeks and skin around the mouth and eyes are a bit dry. For ladies/gentlemen who’s got the same skin as mine, I suggest you use once a week, we don’t want over doing it and maybe end up getting dry skin. The clay itself is colored grey (sorry I’ve gotten used to seeing clay of different colors thanks to my play-doh loving daughter) and you only need a small amount to cover your face. My face I think is medium sized so the amount of clay I used is about the size of a marshmallow (not the one you bring to camping :P)

Experience: It’s easy to apply and I immediately felt the cooling effect of the product. Like literally putting some ice on my face, this is the part I really enjoyed – like the cold feeling of swimming at night but just on your face haha! Leave the clay on your face for 10 mins (15 mins tops) then rinse. I noticed that my pores were visibly smaller and my skin was not eeky-oily. It doesn’t have that dryness either that makes your wrinkles appear, so using it is like getting a good facial.

Verdict: I will use this again for sure, not just because I still got a lot of it left but because it’s really good on my skin and the results are very satisfying. I recommend you try this out if you have oily skin and want an immediate result, say you’re going for an interview the next day and want to look fresh or you’re going on a first date hihi! This costs SG$21 and Innisfree is located at Bugis Junction, Plaza Singapura and Ngee Ann City.
